Do’s and Don’ts of Using Pair

Pair is like a personal assistant by your side. Be clear when instructing Pair, and always check its work. Pair is powered by the latest large language models.

Do

Explore Pair's capabilities

Pair is great as a writing assistant, and can help you to summarise, rewrite, and spar with you on your ideas.

Share context and be specific

Pair does best with clear instructions. Specify content, tone, length, or even a sample for Pair to emulate.

Iterate and refine

Engage in a back-and-forth conversation to refine Pair’s responses. e.g. “Please make the intro more punchy?”

Be careful

Pair isn’t Google

Pair can’t access the internet or real-time information. It will occasionally say inaccurate things about people or facts.

This is just an assistive tool

Never use its output without proper checks. Officers should ensure their work is accurate and appropriate.

Keep government info secure

Pair is only cleared for up to Restricted / Sensitive Normal information. Do not use it for more classified work.

Security: Pair should only be used for information classified up to Restricted and Sensitive Normal.

Accuracy: Pair may produce inaccurate or misleading information. Always check Pair’s work.
